HOW TO OPERATE IN THE SUPERNATURAL LIFE (2): THE TONGUES OF THE SPIRIT
For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him? howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries..
I Corinthians 14:2 (KJV)
Speaking in the tongues of the Spirit is a mystery given to the believer to handle every miseries of life. The translators of King James Version added “unknown” in their translation maybe just to indicate that the language is unknown to the audience or even to the one speaking it. However, in the original language, there is no unknown indicated. The tongues is the utterance the Holy Spirit gave you at the baptism of the Holy Spirit. It is a supernatural utterance that is not learned but is given to help you communicate with your Father. Our opening text says that he that speaks in tongue speaks to Yahweh directly. It is a direct connection without any interference. It is the Holy Spirit using your vocal cords to express mysteries to your Father on your behalf. This is very profound because it holds the key to your robustness in the spirit realm. The first thing about speaking in the tongues of the Holy Spirit is that it is a direct communication to your Father. Secondly, it is for your building up and charging up. I Corinthians 14:4 says, “He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself? but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.” Speaking in the tongues of the Spirit builds your spirit up like a house. It charges you up like a battery 🔋. This is the cure for any form of depression. You can never be depressed if you can pray in tongues. You are charged up to take charge. I personally pity people that smoke any kind of thing to get high. It will only take me ten minutes of concentrated tonguing to be higher than the most smoked up person. The Spirit charges you up as you pray in tongues. Thirdly, praying in tongues builds your faith or strengthens your faith. Jude 1:20 says, ”But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,” Faith comes by hearing and understanding the Word (see Romans 10:17). As faith comes, prayer is spiritual exercise that strengthens your faith making it able to stand in the evil day (see Ephesians 6:13). Praying in the tongues of the Spirit tunes your faith to withstand the pressures of life. The longer you pray in tongues, the stronger your faith. The stronger your faith, the more you take your place in the supernatural. Tongues of the Spirit is given to you to enable you function in the supernatural.
Praying in tongues helps you access revelation of both the Word and the Lord. Light is at the mercy of the energy generated at the place of prayer especially praying in tongues. II Corinthians 12:1 talks about the “visions and revelations of the Lord”. It was Apostle Paul that said that he came to the visions and revelations of the Lord. Who is Apostle Paul? He was the man that said “I pray in tongues more than you all” (see I Corinthians 14:18). Praying in tongues deepens your spirit-man and deep calls unto the deep (see Psalms 42:7). Make out time to pray in tongues more and longer. Selah!
REMEMBER: Tongues is given to you to help you connect to the Father more intimately.
CONFESSION: The devil is afraid of my praying in tongues. As I pray in tongues, I sideline him and the gates of hell and establish a direct link with the throne of grace, making me sagacious and powerful. Halleluyah!
