THE BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Acts 2:4 (KJV)
The author believes that the disciples of the Lord Yahushua were born again at that instance that the Lord breathe on them and said “Receive ye the Holy Ghost” (see John 20:22). After the price of sin was fully paid, the Lord Yahushua having risen from the dead, his disciples in acceptance of Him as their Lord and Personal Saviour and having gathered to Him, He breathe upon them the Holy Spirit. At that point, they were recreated in their spirit, and became new creatures in HaMashiach. This is the experience, we have already described in this devotional to be the first encounter with the Holy Spirit. There is another encounter that we see here in our opening text which is subsequent to salvation. This means that you can never experience Acts 2:4 until you have experienced John 20:22 and 3:3-8. This second encounter is called the baptism of/with the Holy Spirit or the infilling of the Holy Spirit. It is called the infilling of the Holy Spirit because in John 7:37-39, the Lord Yahushua described the experience as drinking until you are filled and it overflows. Then from you, the rivers of living water will start gushing. It is also the emersion of your spirit-man into the Holy Ghost so that every part of you is inundated with the power from on high.
This second experience is evidenced by utterance of the Holy Ghost in tongues. Our opening text says that “they were all filled with the Holy Ghost and began to speak with other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance”. Some claim that they believe in the Holy Spirit but don’t believe in that tongues business. But you are either believing the Word or not believing it at all. You cannot choose what to believe and what not to believe. If the Word says so, then you must believe it or you are an unbeliever. When it is the Holy Spirit that fills you, He gives you utterance in tongues. Just like a baby that is learning to speak, it may not sound good and sweet at the beginning but as you continue to speak, you are taken into deeper dimensions.
Can an unbeliever receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues? Absolutely impossible scripturally. Without being born again, you cannot be baptised in the Holy Spirit. Apostle Peter explaining to the confused crowd on the day of Pentecost said “32 This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses. 33 Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.” (Acts 2:32-33). Until you are in HaMashiach, the Holy Spirit is never your portion. You cannot receive Him. Selah!
REMEMBER: The baptism of the Holy Spirit is the enduement with power with the evidence of speaking in tongues.
CONFESSION: Power from on high is on me. I am anointed to be a witness of the gospel of HaMashiach by the baptism of the Holy Spirit. As I speak in tongues, I connect to this power source and continue to manifest wonders to my world. Halleluyah!
PROPHETIC RELEASE: Receive a fresh infilling of the Holy Spirit now in the name of the Lord Yahushua HaMashiach Amen!
