THE WORK OF THE HOLY SPIRIT (5): COUNSELLOR
But the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, Whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will cause you to recall (will remind you of, bring to your remembrance) everything I have told you.

The word Counsellor has three interesting shades of meaning. One is a person who gives advice or counselling like we have marriage counsellor who is a specialist in knowledge about marriage affairs and can guide his/her client to profit in that area of life. The Holy Spirit is my life Counsellor. He created the world and knows all that I don’t know. Calamity in life comes when I fail to heed to the voice of this divine counsellor whom my Father has given to me to help me not to miss my way in life. The Holy Spirit is an expert in all areas of life. You can rest on His nudgings and be sure that it is failure-proof. Your Counsellor the Precious Holy Spirit is here to give you advice. The Bible says in the multitude of counsel there is safety (see Proverbs 11:14; 24:6). Hear this, ‘Prov 11:14 Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety.’ Failure is inevitable in the absence of advice or counsel. Beloved, you are a witness that you are just one wise counsel away from landing in millions of dollars as you read this now. You are just one wise counsel away from making a success of your marriage. In any area of your confrontation right now, it is just one wise counsel away you require to come out on the other side of celebration and victory. Praise the Lord, you are not barren of that wise Counsellor. His name is the Sweet Holy Spirit and He lives in you. Halleluyah! This is something to shout about.
The second shade of meaning of the word Counsellor is a lawyer specially one that gives advice in law and manages cases for clients in court. The Precious Holy Spirit is your lawyer both in the court of heaven and on earth. Our constitution that prevails in all realms of life is the Word of Yahweh and it was written by the Holy Spirit. He can guide you into the Word to present your case before the Father in such a compelling manner that you can never be denied. How do you think we secure answered prayer? Our great Counsellor the Holy Spirit advices of what to pray and how to pray. Romans 8:26 (NET) says, ‘In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness, for we do not know how we should pray, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with inexpressible groanings.’ By this, you can be sure that nothing can win against you. That thing does not exist in heaven, on earth and in hell. Nothing absolutely can prevail against you walking in the counsel of the Holy Spirit. Are you facing any litigation right now? Employ the Holy Spirit to dismiss it in your favour.
Lastly, the word Counsellor means one who has supervisory duties at a summer camp or any camp at all. As you know, we are pilgrims on earth. We are as it were, living in the earth camp and the Holy Spirit is our Counsellor supervising our duties here on earth. In any setup, if you are going to be recommended for promotion, you must please and work well with your supervisor. Beloved, your relationship with our Counsellor, the Precious Holy Spirit is key to your promotion here on earth, to your enjoying the good things of life here on our pilgrimage through this earth. Many believers are suffering today because they have simply neglected the ministry of our Supervisor and they are wondering why they are not being blessed. It is because, you are not recommended for promotion yet. In fact, in most case, you are rather recommended for demotion. That shall not be your case. So, beloved, cooperate with your supervisor the Mighty Holy Spirit for your promotion and well being in this camp of earth. The good news is that our Supervisor was solely given to us for our good.
REMEMBER: The Holy Spirit as our Counsellor connotes professional counsellor, lawyer and supervisor.
PRAYER: Dear Father, thank You for Your Word to me today. Thank You for the gift of my Sweet Counsellor the Holy Spirit. I accept Him today as my Counsellor and I bow before Him for all matters concerning me here on earth. Precious Holy Spirit I handover to you all my life and issues, be my professional counsellor, lawyer and supervisor. I love You in the name of the Lord Yahushua HaMashiach Amen!
