THE WORK OF THE HOLY SPIRIT (6): STRENGTHENER
But the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, Whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will cause you to recall (will remind you of, bring to your remembrance) everything I have told you.
John 14:26(AMPC)
A Strengthener is one that makes you stronger, that emboldens you and empowers you. The blessed Holy Spirit, our Strengthener makes us stronger, emboldens us and empowers us.
Let us take the first one. He makes us stronger. This is the work of the Holy Spirit in our inner man. Our strength is not of the physical even though the well-being of our physical body is also of paramount concern to the Holy Spirit because my body is His temple. He looks to the world through my eyes, touches men through my hands and generally expresses Himself through my body His temple. So, He is obviously concerned with the well-being of my body. However, His primary interest is the well-being of my spirit because if my spirit is strong, it influences the well-being of my physical body. Ephesians 3:14-17 (KJV) says one of the most beautiful prayers of the Spirit in the New Testament. The Holy Spirit strengthens us in our inner man by ensuring we feed on the Word, breathe in prayer and exercise by acting on the Word.
The Holy Spirit emboldens us as we pray in the Holy Spirit that is praying in unknown tongues. 1 Corinthians 14:4 (NET) says, ‘The one who speaks in a tongue builds himself up, but the one who prophesies builds up the church.’ When you are baptised in the Holy Spirit, He grants you utterance in unknown tongues. This is not for show or fun. This is the spiritual avenue of enlarging your spiritual capacity. When you pray in unknown tongues, you build yourself up as it were a house. You see, the Holy Spirit was given to us to equip us to reign in life by HaMashiach and you can’t reign in timidity and cowardice. The Holy Spirit doesn’t want you to be shy or unable to stand before a mere man no matter his natural status. The Holy Spirit imparts an audacity in your carriage that terrorizes hell. You are a divine being, an associate of the God-kind, a participator in the God-life, made as God-man to represent the authority of heaven on earth. You need boldness as that of a lion to intimidate all the gates of hell and reign in victory. Speaking in unknown tongues is the Spirit’s avenue of achieving that in your life.
The Holy Spirit is our power source. We are utterly powerless without Him. The Lord Jesus said in Acts 1:8 (AMPC), ‘But you shall receive power (ability, efficiency, and might) when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be My witnesses in Jerusalem and all Judea and Samaria and to the ends (the very bounds) of the earth.‘ This power is not for show, it is for witnessing. This power is in you if you are baptised already, but you can never see it manifest until you get on the go in witnessing for the Lord Yahushua. You can heal the sick, raise the dead and deliver the oppressed, the power is in you. It is not the reserve of any group of people, it is for everyone filled with the Holy Spirit. But as long as you are not in the business of the purpose for which the power was given, you will not see it in manifestation. So, go out today, tell somebody about the Lord Yahushua and His love for them. In the process, pray for the sick, and see what happens.
REMEMBER: The Holy Spirit our Strengthener makes us stronger, emboldens and empowers us.
CONFESSION: I am born of the Word by the Holy Spirit. Therefore, I am a wonder to this earth. I am stronger everyday in my inner-man, emboldened in my spirit and empowered to effect changes in my world. Everything is working in my life and I call the shots before my enemies because I am empowered to reign in life by HaMashiach. Halleluyah!
PROPHETIC RELEASE: Today marks the end of every form of weakness, lethargic existence and powerlessness of the spirit in your life. From today, start commanding what has commanded you before. Rule and reign in the midst of your enemies. Take back without delay any hanging blessing today in the name of the Lord Yahushua HaMashiach Amen!
